THE SCALA THEATRE This year, Lighting Designers Thailand get together again to put a spell on the charming last stand alone theatre in Bangkok; The Scala. The architecture itself has awarded Conservation Architectural Design Award in 2012. Scala has been standing elegantly for almost 50 years. It has an architectural style of a theater in late modernist with the decoration in the Art Deco design. The front of the building is a high platform to open a space through the arch entrance. For the upper floor, the entrance into the theater has a curve structure supported by columns. The ceiling is decorated like a big gear wheel pattern, which becomes the identity of this theater. Lighting and selected music are well synchronised at different time of the night. Again, this is a project when all Thai lighting hearts melted together. We are a great family ! Together, we can.
